Structures that are constructed in the factory for residential purposes are called factory-built homes. The types of factory-built housing are manufactured homes, modular homes, panelized homes, pre-cut homes and mobile homes. The manufactured homes are constructed completely in the factory and should meet the Federal Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards or HUD code. In modular homes, modules are brought where the supposed home will be located and then installed.
If panels were transported to the site, it is called panelized home. Then if the building materials to be assembled are pre-cut in the factory, it’s called pre-cut homes. Mobile homes on the other hand are those that were manufactured before the HUD code took effect.
