A corset is form of attire that is worn by women (and some men) for the purpose of molding and shaping the torso. This can be used for medical or aesthetic purposes. The word corset was taken from the word "cors" which is a French word for "body". There have been some reported cases regarding the health risks caused by wearing corsets. One of these is the Glenard’s disease, which is the displacement of the liver and is characterized by the lack of abdominal muscles.
To my surprise, I found out that corsets are used by other people for sake of sexual fetishism.

I’ve seen women put those on (for theater) and they look very uncomfortable but you have to admit, they look er… more visually-appealing afterwards.
