Mid-sem Assessment: Passed or Failed

Before the anything about passing and failing, I want to present to you my "Rockin' Girl Blogger" pink badge!

So here's my PASSED/FAILED list:

CS 131 :: Numerical Methods

First Machine Problem (MP). Passed. Not so proud about finishing it in just two days. Fortan is friendly and utility functions saved me.

First Exam. FAILED. Passing is 60%. I got 50. Three questions. 100 points each. Final score = average score for the three questions. My scores: 30, 70, 50. Kill me. I should have passed it. If only |F'(x)| < 1 (convergence for MOSS) didn't missed a space in my memory. I am ten characters short for the first problem.

Second Exam. No results yet but I can say that it is a FAILED. I was sick during the exam, and I was chilling the whole time of the exam. It's more frustrating because I know the topics very well and I know how to correctly solve all the problems given. Damn sickness.

CS 133 :: Automata Theory

First Exam. Passed. 86.25%. Not bad. I can't complain much about it because I just studied the day before the exam. It almost slipped from my head. Good thing somebody reminded me. I can't remember who.

Quizzes and classroom activities. FAILED. I am always dozing off in class. And most of the time, I do not read previous lessons before going to class.

CS 180 :: Artificial Intelligence

First Critical Paper. Passed. 100%. It's a paper, and it's critical. I can't say more.

First Exam. If I almost forgotten about my CS 133 First Exam, this time, I have really forgotten my CS 180 Exam. Darn. That's during the week that I was sick. Good thing that my instructor is very considerate. My make-up exam is scheduled next Wednesday. I hope I pass it.

MP. The four-in-a-row board game. Uhmm.. Deadline is on September 3. Less than a week from now. And I am yet to start. Actually, the MP was given almost a month ago. I didn't notice how time can fly this fast.

CS 173 :: Software Testing

First Quiz. Passed. 26/40. 65%. Passing is 60%. How grave. And what's more grave is this quiz worth 14% of my final grade. Do the computations.

Midterm Exam. I don't know if the result was already out. I have been missing the class for weeks now. But I can bet a sure win that it's a FAILED. I have not studied and, again, I almost forgot it.

Philippine Institutions 100 :: The Life and Works of Jose Rizal

Quizzes. FAILED. This course demands a whole lot of time for reading. And I can't afford such loss.

Midterm. Is on Wednesday, September 3. And I still have to read piles of papers. Mountains, I mean.

CS 198 :: Special Problems (Thesis, first phase)

Uhmm.. I don't know. But at least our group is having the direction we need. We have a research presentation on September 5. We need a prototype, results and confidence. Phew. Do you know any supplier?

Parser :: The Official Student Publication of the UP Department of Computer Science

FAILED. First issue remains unpublished. We still have a couple of news pending. Our editorial is still undone. The editorial cartoon is not yet sketched. We only have one sponsor for this issue. And I just can't give much time to it. What happened to my heart for the paper? I must've really shifted my priorities. I can no longer take responsibility of the editorship of Parser at this stage of my life. Sometimes I really feel like quitting but then after a while, shame will crawl on my spine. But as my instructor in CS 133 has said, I must give up something. And it can't be freelancing. Hey. I need dough to survive.

There. It's clear that my I failed the first half of this sem.
