I said I'll quit writing.. Well, I was lying then.

Tit Tat Tit Tat Too

Monday, April 16, 2007

I remember writing an article about henna tattoo when I was in my first year in high school. T’was one of my beat in our school publication. Henna tattooing is just new then, but tattooing has been around for like thousands of years now.

Tattoos have been carriers of symbolisms to different countries, tribes and group of people. Cultures have different tatoo traditions. Tattoos also have already served various purposes such as rites of passage, religous tattoos as symbol of spiritiual devotion, display of bravery, decoration of beauty, sexual lures, punishments, amulets, protection from evil spirits, and mark of slaves and convicts. Today, tattoos are used in cosmetics and as an expression of character or an identification of groups of people.

This is Lucky Diamond Rich of Australia, born in New Zealand. His skin is 100% tattooed. He spent over 1,000 hours having his body tattooed by a hundred tattoo artists. He started with beautiful, colorful tattoos collected from different part of the world. Until he decided to have his entire body be tinted by black ink, even his eyelids, down to his ears and to his gums.
